Opening Song-All Who Are Thirsty

Call To Corporate Worship

The reason we gather every week is to join, as a family, in worshipping God, our Father, through word and song. As we’ve been learning in Genesis he spoke all of creation, including us, into being. God not only created us though, but has raised us from death to life, and brought us into community with each other. Every week we come together to share in the overwhelming reality that God loves us, a fallen people, and pursues us even when we do not desire him to. Let’s worship our great God today!

Hear the Word of the Lord:

Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion.

–Psalm 103:1-4

Prayer Of Confession

Lord, we thank you and bless you for saving us through your Son Jesus Christ and for bringing us together as your Body. We confess how little we know your Word and how weak are faith is to believe it. Father you command us to do justice, to love what is good and hate what is evil. So often though we ignore these commands. We admit our guilt just like the Israelites in Isaiah:

“Therefore justice is far from us, and righteousness does not overtake us; we hope for light, but we walk in gloom. For our transgressions are with us, and we know our iniquities”.

Lord we confess the evil we have committed as well as the good we have neglected. Heal our unbelief. Give us faith to love justice and hate what is evil, not only in our own lives but also in the world around us. Amen.

Song Of Confession– O Help My Unbelief

Scripture Of Assurance:

Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned. By the one man’s disobedience (Adam), the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience (Jesus), the many will be made righteous. Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.

–Romans 5:12, 19-20

Song Of Thanksgiving– How Deep The Father’s Love For Us

Sermon

Communion– Death Has Lost Its Sting

Response/Thanksgiving/Commitment

Man, who is the most perfect image of God on earth among visible creatures, God made righteous and good, but fell into sin through his own guilt, and dragged the whole human race into this fall. This original and inherited sin has poisoned all of mankind, who had become children of wrath and an enemy of God, and who could not be saved or restored by anyone except God through Christ. This Lord Christ, who has overcome and conquered death, sin and the whole power of hell, is our Forerunner, our Leader, and our Head. He is the true High Priest who sits at God’s right hand and always defends and promotes our cause, until He brings us back and restores us to the image in which we were created.
