purpose

As Christians, one of the God given identities we see in Scripture is that of a worshipper. We are called to worship God alone, throughout all of our days. Yet so often we forget and fail to do this rightly. And this is why we gather- to remind each other of the story of redemption that we are a part of, praising the Author of that story for His grace, and remembering our rightful place in it.

Colossians 3:16 speaks directly to how we are to do this: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” It is by singing that we let the word of Christ dwell richly–practically, it’s how we, together, remember the good news we’ve forgotten and abandoned.

With that said, at times i’ve heard and know it can be overwhelming to sing with all our might when we don’t know the songs all that well to begin with, not to mention the challenge of processing lyrics. So, we’ve decided to start recording some rough demos of songs we sing, and posting links to them on this blog.

Each week, links for some of the songs from the upcoming Sunday will be posted. I encourage you to listen (and sing!) , and to allow God’s Spirit to prepare your hearts, minds, and voices for our next gathering!
